Imagine writing a script for a book, the film rights for that are already bought by some other Production house. There has to be some conviction and supreme self- confidence in ones own self! And Director and Script writer Abhishek Varman has it in abundance. Karan Johar backed his debutant director and Co-Produced the movie with Sajid Nadiadwala. The film is true to the Chetan Bhagat novel with the Same name 2 states. The lead pair has amazing screen presence and Chemistry. Alia performs like a master student of the year. Makes Soni and Mahesh Bhatt proud. She majors beautifully as Annanya Swaminathan. Everyone in the family Ronit Roy, Amrita Singh, Revathi and Shiv Kumar Subramanium have performed wonderfully well. But the Real star of this film is Arjun Kapoor. In every scene he has excelled! There is a tragic similarity in the role of Krish Malhotra and Arjuns real life! He has drawn a lot from his own life and bared his soul in this portrayal. It stands out! Shankar- Eshaan- Loys Music is foot tapping and Arjit Singhs Mast Magan grows on you as the film progresses.
