Imagine you have no water, just a bucket, every week it rains for 10 minutes. What would you do? We would seek out those 10 minutes, always be ready to collect as much water as possible. Why? because we would realize the importance of working hard and collecting as much water as possible in those 10 minutes as those 10 minutes would decide whether we survive the rest of the week. Now think about our lifes, were here for maybe 50, 60, 70 years if Allah wills and then an eternity of either reward or punishment. Our short lifes are much less then those 10 minutes in the scenario, we should always be trying to collect as many good deeds as possible, we should not be wasting a second! May Allah make it ease for us and allow us to make the most of our lifes. May Allah have mercy on us.
