Imam Hanafi, Malki, Shafii and Hanbly are not sects, they are - TopicsExpress

Imam Hanafi, Malki, Shafii and Hanbly are not sects, they are different schools of thought within one sect and that is ahle sunnat wal jamaat. All the great scholars, even muhaditheen had been following one or the other of them in the matters of interpretations in Islam. Imam Ghazali, Shah Waliullah, Ibne Taymiah to name a few. they dont fulfill the definition of sects as their ideology and basic principles are same, they dont hate each other, they dont call kafir or gumrah to each other, they respect each others opinion, their difference is only in minors and of scholarly nature, they dont spread their differences in public. they are inshallah the one sect about which holy prophet has promised to enter jannah. - Ma Awan
