Iman and Kufr In addition to this, Ibn Taymeyyah uses terms - TopicsExpress

Iman and Kufr In addition to this, Ibn Taymeyyah uses terms indicating that Iman has foundation and bunches. He said: • “Iman has foundation branches. Kufr is antonym to the Iman in all aspects. The origin of Iman is the acceptance and the belief. Its branches is to fulfill and complete Iman by heart and physical acts. What is opposite to the acceptance and belief which is the origin and foundation of Iman is the disbelief” (page: 308) Then he talks again about the Iman, which is belief and its denial is kufr and Iman, which is act and violating it is not an act of kufr. • There is no need for this approach. The approach Abu Hanifah used it most proper: • There is Iman, which is the basis and violating it is an act of apostasy. • In addition to this, there are acts based on Iman and violating such rules does not constitute kufr.
