Imani Lee CEO Lee E. Martin will be presenting “Documenting Genocide: Translating History to Raise Awareness for the Future” at the American Translators Association Global Conference in Chicago, Illinois, on November 7, 2014. This 1-hour session will focus on the company’s work documenting the atrocities that occurred in Halabja, Kurdistan, Iraq in 1988. This will include discussion on working with the Iraqi government, and the unique challenges of working with Iraqi Parliament members, ministers, governors, mayors, legal experts, and other team members. Martin will also discuss the process of translation, editing, harmonizing, and packaging the finished documents, which were then notarized and certified, in order to help promote US House Resolution (HR 422) to recognize the Kurdish Genocide, and why these documents will be in the Library of Congress, and why they deserve notoriety in the US Holocaust Museum.
