Imma be blasting you with a couple short(ish) stories to make up for my lack of posts ~ Demon Eyes O.O My favorite cousin wasnt spending any time with me. She lived so far away and I had waited all year for the annual family get- together. I had so many stories to tell her about my adventures in the woods behind my house and about my friends at school. Now we were together again, but she refused to give me a passing glance. There was something about the way she walked, and the way her eyes were constantly shifting from side to side. She seemed wary, borderline jumpy. I thought this would be a good time to seek professional help. I asked her mother what was going on. My aunt is a real gem of a woman but she respects neither boundaries, privacy, or word count. Needless to say I got more than I came for, just a long, drawn out spiel about how she had been worrying about her daughter and how she seemed like she needed a friend right now. She finally grabbed my attention when she said she caught her daughter talking to herself alone in her room the other day. I swear it was the strangest thing, She finished. It still puzzles me that that girl would do something so odd when lately shes so nervous she seems scared of her own shadow! That threw me off. I had never heard the expression before. I finally cornered my cousin asked her why she would be afraid of her own shadow. It took her a long time to answer me. Finally, with a soft waver in her breath she showed me three long scabbing cuts on her arm. Because the last time it grabbed me, I couldnt make it let go.
