Immediately you start getting concerned about the feelings and opinions of friends and onlookers rather than that of your spouse, know that your affection, confidence and focus on your marriage is compromised. Its just like having low self esteem to the point where what people say get to you more than what you see in the mirror. Let them talk and leave them to spew their opinions about. Love like there is no tomorrow. Bride prices aint cheap and if you paid one or had one paid on you, then dont bother about what others say.... Let them play with theirs. Appreciate what you have. Hold hands in public, show up at weddings and other social gatherings together. Once in a while use their pictures as your DP if you feel bubbly. Keep your wedding ring on.... Let the world know you are bold and confident about who you chose. No one has confidence in what you have if you do not exude confidence around it. If anyone can talk you out of an idea it means you are not confident about it and it can be taken from you....the same way it plays out if you can be talked out of publicly showing off who you have legally acquired.
