Immigrants, international students, children of dual citizens, applicants to Canadian citizenship, dual citizens, and all Canadians, please take action against Bill C-24. It is extremely damaging and degrading to almost everyone in this society. It would be an understatement to say that all of Canadas existence survives on accepting people from all over the world, and that as a result, a political and social culture of peaceful co-existence, equal rights, tolerance, and respect has emerged in its history and remains in place until now. It would be quite sad to say farewell to what Canada has meant to us Canadians, what it means to future Canadians, and to the world alike_ what makes this country so unique and wonderful. In reality, for a lot of us, Canada is a peaceful moment of escape from difficult social conditions back home, after which one may decide to return to the society one feels most connection to, in order to contribute to the life of humanity in the clearest, most educated, positive, and humane ways... But for this one moment that may very well last long enough to make a loyal and deep relationship to this land_ to remain here, as a form of dutiful patriotic commitment_ OR NOT, we deserve equal rights and respect for the vast contribution we are making to this society, and we want to make sure that Canada will be there for us and will be proud of us indeed for holding citizenship of another country (if that be the case) and enriching the cultural life here. Above all, we want an absolutely firm guarantee that our Canadian citizenship will not be taken away with no right to plead, through the proper legal procedures. That government bureaucrats or the Ministry of Immigration and Citizenship alone could potentially gain the power to revoke someones Canadian citizenship, with all legal procedures formerly in place, now eliminated, is a disgusting act of systematic violence and a violation of human rights. We hope Canada will not become another dictatorship to us_ only a bigger cage!!!
