Immigration... I am available on Monday (or Tuesday morning) in Ft. Myers, FL with a fresh logbook and the BEST 24’ straight truck (290”L x 100”W x 101”H) I have ever driven. WAY better than ANY Freightliner or international (even as new as 2014) or regular Peterbilt or Kenworth or Isuzu, UD or Hino (as new as 2012). I guarantee you that if you have ever driven a straight truck for any amount of time, you will agree with me that the DAF-built Peterbilt220 (&210) or KenworthK370 (&270) is the best NON-CDL truck ever built. I have over 2.5 million miles in vehicles under 26,000gvwr. This is the best ride and most practical and best fuel mileage (almost 12mpg since leaving Omaha a week ago). My estimates when I first saw the Peterbilt version (220) of the Kenworth (K360) I am driving were right on target. Now, I am excited to add a sleeper and have the BEST Expedite truck ever built - capable of carrying almost DOUBLE what any other expedite truck I have ever driven can carry (and much more comfortably). Period… Well, Landstar didn’t win the bid, so Ms. Lindsay couldn’t give me the load. Believe it or not, that way be a very good thing. I pulled into Mom’s place and the “ENGINE WARN” system came on and I smelled diesel. I called the guys at the brand new Love’s Truck Stop in North Ft. Myers and, as I suspected, I had a broken fuel line. The new part (there was only ONE in all of North America) will be in on Monday. It’s been nice to see and help Mom (they are downsizing from 2 houses – one in KY and one in FL to a simple 2br condo on the ocean – literally overlooking the bridge to the International Waterway and downtown Ft. Myers). It physically hurts me to be in Florida (well, anywhere from Dallas and South and East of there), but I’m glad it has worked like it has. I am confident that once the new fuel line comes in on Monday and it gets put in, I will have a great load heading somewhere (or back to Minnesota or Omaha). ER doctors determined she had swallow LYE, which severely burned her mouth and everything south thereof down into her stomach. She remains in critical condition. Investigators determined that the tea she sipped contained a powerful chemical cleaner in powdered form that looks like (in a box) powdered sugar. That chemical is supposed to be diluted with water (100 to 1) to use for cleaning stainless steel restaurant kitchen surfaces. Guess what happened? A Hispanic employee who speaks and reads no English was ordered to make up glasses of sweetened ice tea. Well, where is the powdered sugar? Gee that box on the shelf has white granules in it. Lets use that. And the rest is, as they say, hysteria. If the woman lives, its likely she will have to take nourishment thru a tube for the rest of her life. She and her husband will sue the restaurant owners and will be awarded something north of $1 Million. The restaurant will go bankrupt. The employee is long gone back to Mexico or wherever. BUT ALL OF THIS MAKES US STRONGER. Congress will become involved and pass legislation requiring that ALL containers of chemicals used in food service settings be labeled in ALL languages. This will mean each box or bottle must be larger than a piano. So after ten years of litigation from the restaurant industry association, the US Supreme Court will rule that: 1) A piano is a person. 2) All containers of chemicals used in food service must bear the Appropriate labels. 3). Restaurants will try to hire only English speaking employees. 4). They will be sued for employment discrimination by advocates who represent the other 188 languages spoken in the US. 5). The cost of meals in restaurants will skyrocket, in order to pay the legal costs associated with serving food. But the liberal lie will persist. And if one dares question it, he, she or it will be labeled a racist, ethnic, bigot with dandruff and a foot fetish. So kneel down and repeat after me: IMMIGRANTS MAKE AMERICA STRONGER. Paul had a great calling on his life. The revelations and faith experiences that God gave him would have been too much for any mans humility. So God, in order to insure His investment in Pauls life, allowed this man a thorn in his flesh to help him maintain a humble, godly perspective. Perhaps God has given you such a thorn designed to allow you to place greater trust and reliance upon Him. Ask God to reveal to you the blessing of the thorn He has placed in your life. The bloom of a rose is beautiful, but the thorn of a rose produces only pain. Thorns hurt us yet they humble us.
