Imminent Job Opportunities For ‘Angry’ UP Youths After series of complaints by some partisans of Unity Party of reported marginalization, the newly elected Chairperson of the party Legislative Caucus, Representative Mariamu B. Fofana wants partisans of the UP especially the youthful population to be patient because plans are underway to satisfy their expectation for employment and empowerment. Speaking to legislative reporters at the Capitol on Monday, June 17, 2013, Representative Fofana said the party has not forgotten its partisans, especially the youths who campaigned for the re-election of the party. According to her, the party had series of projects to be fulfilled and it is gradually completing the agenda for national transformation. She stated that participatory leadership is the style of leadership adapted by the Unity Party to accommodate Liberians from all walks of life. The Lofa County lawmaker said capacity building and employment of its citizenry are major priority of this government. She cautioned youths of the party to exercise high level of tolerance and restraint in expressing their dissatisfaction on critical national issues. The Unity Party (UP) newly elected Legislative Caucus Chair said all Liberians cannot be employed or empowered at once, but stressed the need for tolerance. She promised to work tirelessly and lobby with all senior partisans of the party to ensure that the plights of its members are urgently addressed. Representative Fofana revealed that the party is lobbying to ensure that 7 of its candidates who are preparing for re-election be overwhelming voted by their constituents. She promised to lobby with her colleagues in the Lower and Upper House to actualize the agenda of the Unity Party. The House’s Committee Chairman on Gender & Child Development said participatory leadership is high on her agenda to move the caucus forward. She promised to work along with other senior legislative caucus members to fulfill the vision of the party. The Lofa County Electoral District # 4 legislator clarified that despite been soft spoken at the Legislature that does not question her leadership skills and ability to head the caucus. Speaking further, she said reconciliation is a gradual process and does not need urgency in Liberia.
