Immy Bhai...you have a problem... You see, you cant CLAIM a higher sense of intellect, morality, and empathy towards the Awaam, and expect to be EXEMPT from its display. This is not just some rant, so please be quiet (for once), pay attention, and try to absorb words and thoughts that go against your own world-view of things, and the rosy images portrayed to you by the sycophantic, fawning, bovine media wizards who are responsible for advising you. Above all, in our leaders we expect a sense of proportion and judgement. A sense of timing, as it were. We expect a sense of seriousness. Gravity. Sobriety. We expect you to think like we do...be affected by events like we do...and have your finger on the pulse of those who you lead. Tomorrow, it will be one month since the incident in #Peshawar occurred. During this time, the Partys contribution to the national narrative on terrorism, has pretty much been non-existent. Instead, the Partys official Twitter page has hashtagged ludicrous, superficial, completely bimboesque topics like #MereyKaptaanKiShaadiHai and #KaptaanKiDholaki, and expected us to find it worthy of any real note. We have been regaled with stories of your wedding chappals, bombarded with images of Party workers dancing at the news of your Qaum ko Shaadi ki Khushkhabri doonga. We have seen a billion images of you and Bhabhi sahiba, cutting a magnificent figure in the farmhouse at Banigala. And during all this time, not a WORD was audible about the tragedy that the parents of Peshawar underwent. And then, one fine day you turn up at APS (in a motorcade of 21 vehicles, no less), with your sycophants in tow, and the police manhandling people to make way for you...and you ACTUALLY expect it is endearing? No, Immy Bhai...it just adds insult to injury. Theres that sense of timing, proportion and judgement that I mentioned earlier. Next, we expect you to be different. Because you take pains to remind us that this is a movement for Tabdeeli. We will hold you to different standards, from the motley crew of politicians around you. We will expect you to behave differently. With greater maturity, and poise, and above all; humility. We will expect you to snub your provincial Minister for daring to suggest that the protest by the parents was fueled by political opponents. We will expect you to say I am truly sorry, if my being present there reminded anyone of their grief, and their perceived sense of deprivation. THEN can you say I went there to share that very grief. Face it, Immy Bhai...you ARE the PTI. You are its breath, its blood, its very life-essence. You cannot get away with silly explanations suggesting that youre just the Party Chief, and that your anorexic Khattak Sb is at the helm of affairs. This explanation incriminates you further. It makes you appear as if you want all of the spotlight, yet none of the responsibility. We cannot tolerate that, from the man who aspires to be the harbinger of change in our blighted lives. And that, brings me to the last point I wish to make (and perhaps, stress again): humility. Immy Bhai, youve been a champion all your life. A world class act. And we love you for that. For your achievements in sports, and social work, and charitable causes. By Allahs will, youve excelled at everything youve done. Which is why it would be VERY endearing if you personified humility rather than arrogance. If you - and our Party - accepted criticism positively. Not everyone who will offer critique will be against you, Immy Bhai. Some amongst them, will actually love you for your positive qualities, and hope that they can make you a better leader by pointing out your flaws. Keep those people closest to you, Kaptaan. Theyre your most ardent admirers.
