Imo Youths Condemns Rochas For Appealing The Nyakos Impeachment. RE:Press Release The attention of Imo Youths Vanguard has been drawn to a publication credited to the state government of Imo state as signed by the SSA to the governor on media, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, condemning the impeachment of the former governor of Adamawa state, Mr. Murtala Nyako. Imo youths wishes to dissociate itself from the blanket condemnation from the governor as the governor could only do so under the capacity of the APC governors chairman and not as the governor of the good people of Imo state. Imo Youths Vanguard condemns in strongest terms, the governors purported sympathy to the impeached former governor of Adamawa state because the former governor was indicted by a competent panel of inquiry and recommended for impeachment having found him wanting on the several impeachable offences leveled against him. It is therefore legally and morally wrong for our governor to be defending such a corrupt leader who was found guilty of all the 16 count charges of gross abuse of public office,abuse of power,financial recklessness and inciting the people against the federal government. Imo Youths Vanguard are hereby advising the members of the public to disregard gov. Rochas Okorocha and his publication as it does not reflect the desires and the true wishes of Imolites who are law abiding citizens of the federal republic of Nigeria who would not question the clear acts of legal processes and due process which the Adamawa house of Assembly followed in impeaching their former governor. We are ashamed by the high level of hypocrisy and double standard our governor is exhibiting on the said publication because he does not have the moral right to question the processes that led to the impeachment of Murtala Nyako, having set the ball rolling by framing up and impeaching his former deputy governor, sir Jude Agbaso in the most bizarre manners which attracted global condemnation. In the said self serving publication, our governor said that The impeachment has no iota of value to add to the nation’s growth and development, and even to the progress of Adamawa state and Imo Youths Vanguard wishes to ask our governor of what value do the impeachment of former deputy governor added to the growth,development and progress of Imo state? We are urging our governor to focus on delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Imo state and stop henceforth to be interfering on other states affairs as Imo state has a barrage of problems facing her. Imo Youths Vanguard demand the immediate withdrawal of the publication as it is not done in the best interest of Imo state and Nigeria in our collective efforts of fighting corruption.
