Impact #9: Helping Kazakhstani wheat farmers adapt to climate change. Today we continue a series of ten key #USAID impacts around Central Asia this year. “Ас атасы – нан” – Bread is the head of all foods, Kazakh proverb Climate change is expected to raise the frequency and intensity of droughts, increase temperature variation, and change seasonal rain patterns. These changes threaten Kazakhstan’s wheat production, impacting not only Kazakhstan but also the regional countries which rely on wheat imports from Kazakhstan.
