Imperial Hotel, Jesmond 1912, irs situated on Jesmond Rd on the ourskirts of Newcastle City Centre it was a small modest hotel at the time of this photo.Tramlines ran along its cobbled street were the earliest extension of the city centre system, the motorway development through the city in the 60s led to a huge chunk of the eastern end ofJesmond Rd, but The Imperial survived and is now part of the Swallow Hotel Group it includes a heated swimming pool, spa bath and sauna, steam room and mini-gym.
