Implementation of various government schemes of the state moves at a sluggish pace as staff crunch has paralyzed administration in many parts of the state. At block level huge number of positions are lying vacant resulting in poor implementation of welfare schemes. In the excise department too, large number of vacancies cripple smooth functioning of the department and illegal liquor trade flourishes due to lack of proper monitoring. The present government in the state rolls out one scheme after another, but fails to take adequate follow up actions and build supportive infrastructure which could enable successful implementation of the schemes . on the one hand unemployment haunts the youths of the state, on the other hand the state government is reluctant to fill up the posts. While the government finds enough funds for its populist measures, it claims scarcity of funds for its failure to fill up the vacancies. The state government is better advised to stop its hypocrisy and take immediate action to fill up the vacant posts which would accelerate implementation of welfare schemes and relieve the youths of unemployment.
