Importance of Eye Level Shooting ========================= Please view in full screen mode (click on the image and press the F key) All images from the Jan 2014 LRK Workshop. I still have a few seats left for 22-25 Jan LRK workshop. For details and registrations, please visit: learn.sudhirshivaram/product/details/180/little-rann-of-kutch---gujarat Shooting at eye level or below eye level has its own wow factor on the image. Normally we tend to stand and shoot when we see any ground species. During all my workshops I encourage the participants to get down to eye level (sleep on the ground) and shoot. When you are standing and shooting, the background normally includes the ground and it takes away the wow impact. When you sleep and shoot, you are shooting parallel to the ground and as long as there is no distraction in the background, you get a pleasing background. In the series of images posted, you can see the difference in perspective of the Asiatic Wild Ass when shot lying flat on the ground and standing. I personally prefer the ground level shots. LRK workshop has its own advantage where we will be shooting on foot most of the times and this gives us the flexibility to walk around and explore the place along with a lot of photography learning from me.
