Important Cinematic Initiative Dear Members and friends. I am taking a moment from the still unresolved siege triggered by member Pyne barricading himself inside the cheese shed to advise of an exciting new initiative emanating from within the HHDRSs NSW Branch. More particularly, Member Scott Mannion (Kodachrome Category and a person clearly worthy of a nomination in this years reenactment ceremony), and his chums at Singularity Films are seeking support for what we at the HHDRS regard as the greatest national artistic endeavour since Ken Dones 1993 range of Sydney Harbour themed tea towels. Their film about Sir Harolds so-called disappearance looms as a major corrective to the well-documented failure of the arts establishment and educators to explore in detail the disgraceful conspiracy that robbed our nation of its greatest ever leader. Many of you will be aware of the stupefied silence that meets any attempt to engage ordinary members of the public on the issue of Sir Harold Holt and the pivotal roles he played in decimalising the currency and, among other things, beating back Communist influence in Southeast Asia. But given the success with which anti-decimalisation zealots and communist educators have purged any mention of Sir Harold from school curriculums as well as film and television screens, this ignorance is not surprising. Once we manage to pry Member Pyne from the cheese shed the nation will be better positioned to begin rectifying this historical and cultural travesty. But as Member Pyne has managed to build a defensive igloo from camembert wheels this task might take longer than we would like. In the interim, we urge all members and friends of the HHDRS to visit Scotts page and lend support to his work. Having subjected Member Mannion to several weeks of water boarding and viewed his credentials, we are confident the film will not only open next years film festival in Cannes, but also entice David and Margaret to abandon their premature decision to call it quits. Moreover, the fillip these achievements will provide to our cause will be considerable. Details appended below.
