[Important] Govt. has decided to provide only OBC certificates going forward to those currently belonging to MBC. It says this is being done to bring in consistency with the reservation system at the Center. At the Center, only ST, SC and OBC Categories are considered for reservation, thus any MBC holder from Sikkim does not qualify for the OBC benefits in Central Govt. or Universities. However SKM President PS Golay is batting for that MBC, saying that MBC certification must be restored and people must get back their rights which they have possessed for the past ten years.
