Important information for DHS students and parents. Wednesday (3/5) Girls Basketball team will leave at approximately 12:30 pm, after 4th lunch, weather permitting. Thursday (3/6) Due to weather conditions across the state, the statewide ACT testing date has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 6th, weather permitting. The test will be given and lunch will be served. We will follow the same testing schedule as previously posted for all grade levels with the following exception. We will dismiss school after lunch has been served to all students, but not before 1:30. Buses will run at 1:30, or as soon after that as possible. All students are encouraged to attend Thursday night’s basketball game in Murfreesboro at 6 PM. Students who attend Thursday’s game and sign in with Coach Mahaffey will be excused from school on Friday, win or lose. We do not want our students thinking they have to make a 3 hour trip back home after 8 pm. This will allow families who choose to attend the tournament to make firm travel plans immediately. Students must sign their own name with Coach Mahaffey; they will not be allowed to sign for another student or students. **Students who wish to check out: BRING A PARENT NOTE to present to school staff at time of check out. There will be NO checkouts during the ACT (prior to 12 p.m.). Please, no phone calls. This is a 6 p.m game (Dyersburg Lady Trojans vs. Creekwood) There will be no pep bus on Thursday. Friday (3/7) Cheer and Girls Basketball will be excused this day as well regardless of outcome on Thursday. Per Mr. Durbin, we will announce Friday’s schedule at the conclusion of Thursday night’s game. If we win, school will be dismissed at 12:30 on Friday. If we do not, school will last until 3 PM on a regular schedule. Those students who have signed in at the tournament will be excused for Friday, win or lose. *If we win Thursday, we will play at 6 pm. There is a possibility of a student pep bus, or pep buses if necessary. Students will need money for bus ride, a signed parent field trip form, money for food, and $10 for game ticket. We need at least 40 on the bus with 4 teachers to chaperone. This bus will leave approximately 12:45.
