Important message from the Maine Peoples Alliance: Right now my family is sinking deeper and deeper with no positive outcome in the visible future. The jobs available to anyone without a degree are scarce and so low-paying that the general public cant afford to live. My son eats, I dont. Hes much more important with his growing body! Thats part of just one of the many heart-breaking responses we received when we recently asked Mainers about what its like trying to make ends meet while working low-wage jobs. The sad truth is we know these stories are all-too-common for many Mainers, but big corporations and conservative groups will try to sweep these experiences of real, struggling Mainers under the rug.
