Important note: North Platte River is not the same as the South - TopicsExpress

Important note: North Platte River is not the same as the South Platte River....there are two branches that merge just to the east of the city of North Platte, Ne. This merge of the two river branches becomes the Platte River which flows east across the state. The Platte River will flow into the Missouri River which flows southward into Missouri and across Missouri, then flows into the Mississippi. The Mississippi flows southward to New Orleans and on out into the gulf. The South Platte River flows out of Colorado into Nebraska but the North Platte River flows out of Wyoming into Nebraska. You might like to know where the Missouri River originates.
