Imprisoned activist conducts foot campaign before Hlaing Court trial Activist Htin Kyaw, who was sentenced to 13 years and four months in prison for violating Section 18 and Section 505(B) of the penal code, was brought to his fifth trial session at the Hlaing Township court on January 15. While Htin Kyaw was being brought to the trial, he protested against his charges. He explained that his actions were a response to a particular crony who grabbed his lands in Mayangon Township, Quarter No 6, Yangon Region, in cooperation with authorities. He said the behavior of the cronies and authorities ensures the oppression and poverty of the people. He criticized the government’s failure to take legal action against military dictators.
