Improve yourself as an artist There are so many artists in this world while some achieve great heights others still struggle to make ends meet. One can brush off saying it is each individuals luck. But it takes more than luck to be a fine artist. Just having talent or doing a fine art course will not be enough to become a good artist. An artist needs to have certain principles and discipline to pull himself up and make his own niche in the art world. Creative efforts can take a front seat when compared to other activities. An artist needs to have a keen eye for beauty and a good amount of observation. Practicing and improving imperfection and realizing the mistakes in the process and not repeating the same mistakes again and again is how an artist will improvise on his art. It will takes years of dedication and practice. Fine art is something that will attract the eyes of the onlookers and to achieve that great amount of perfection as to mesmerize an onlooker takes years of trial and error with colors, shades, lighting effects, expression, and many more such fine details. In order to keep learning and improving the artists have to be eternal students. Only then they can keep on learning, and there are so many new things to learn daily that the learning process is never ending. Be open to criticism, that is the best way to learn where you are going wrong and what you have to improve to make your work better. But it does not mean the artist has to accept every criticism. Be open to all the comments but you be the final judge of whether you need to work on that area or not. Because not everyone who is going to comment on the work knows art well or is an artist himself. An artist has to be truthful and and self aware of his efforts, only then he can improve in the field of art. Always have a stable mind towards success and failure. Take up failures as a challenge and have a positive attitude that failure is the stepping stone to success. Observe what failed in the work and improvise on that area. Success should also be dealt humbly. Any kind of arrogance can scare away prospective buyers of the art. Always take the advice of people who have a positive approach towards art and who think in a positive light and welcome their constructive criticism. People with negative attitude should always be avoided.
