Imraan bin Hittaan as-Sadoosee, al-Basaree was one of the prominent figures during his time but later became one of the chiefs of the deviant Khawarij sect. He narrated from Aisha, Abu Musa al-Asharee and Ibn Abbaas; and Ibn Sireen, Qatadah and Yahya bin Abee Katheer narrated from him. Ibn Sireen said, Imraan married a woman from the Khawaarij saying I want to rectify her but she converted him to her sect. He had a poem extoling the assassin of Alee bin Abee Taalib, AbdurRahman bin Muljam. It was so malicious that AbdulMalik bin Marwan declared him wanted and he bolted to the Arabian Peninsula. My brethren, safeguard your religion from doubt and your heart from deviation by avoiding speech and company of the people of desires. We ask Allaah for wellbeing and good end. And what is a good end? It’s dying upon Islam as understood by the pious forbearers.
