Imran Khan was a bigger force than Modi in Pakistan which has a similar electoral system with all the corruption and vote bank politics. Imran Khan also had won 90% of all online and offline opinion polls. He had a much better history to back him, no negative baggage, had managed to appease liberals as well as far right extremists and was the top pick of the youth. He was projected as the messiah of modern Pakistan and a year down the lane he is still heard but largely ignored. An analogy worth examining to understand the current trend in India.
