In 1908 Theodore Roosevelt echoed this truth with these words: It is the tasks connected with the home that are the fundamental tasks of humanity......after all, we can get along for the time being with an inferior quality of success in other lines, political or business, or any such kind: because if there are failings in such matters we can make them good in the next generation; but if, mother does not do her duty, here will be no next generation, or a generation that is worse than none at all. I am so thankful for a mother who sacrificially gave herself to raising eight children. A mom who worked 40 hours per week to provide for her family and 40 hours per week to care for her family. A mom who took trips across town to a Laundromat with a gang of kids to wash clothes at a coin laundry. A mom who bought us clothes or an ice cream cone at the expense of getting herself nothing. A mom who always encouraged me and told me that I was special and could do something special with my life. A mom who walked all of her children across town several miles every Sunday to church. A mom who got up before everyone else and went to bed later than everyone else. A mom who today has a rich heritage of 6 children living and two in heaven with her, and has over 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. I am also so thankful for a godly wife and mother of my four sons. Debbie is a true gift to me and our boys from God! Happy Mothers Day!
