In 1942, The Army Air Force Supply Depot was established on 200 acres of land, at Jackson and Farmville. More than 80,000 items were stored here for all flying operations during WWII. The crash truck is a Air Force Type O-10, American LaFrance, 300 gpm, 500 water, 50 gals protein foam and 20 gals Chlorobromomethane (CB). the CBM was for metal fires. When it was applied to burning metals, a gas was formed that smothered the fire..
