In 1951 when we lived in port Sulphur in the apartment house on Milan Drive there was a large field of corn. Belonging to Harold foret’s father in law. Mr. Demandre . Being from the farm I could see the corn was right to put in the pot. One evening I went in the field and got a few ears of corn.Barbara had the water boiling. The next day I asked Mr. Demandre if he would sell me a dozen ears. He said” that corn is only for the animals. Its not good to eat” I thanked him. The next night Barbara again had the water boiling. And several night after. I just recently told Mr. Foret this. He got a good laugh.
