In 1966, ELVIS PRESLEY recorded “Tomorrow Is A Long Time” during a session for his album “How Great Thou Art”. Presley first heard the song via Charlie McCoy, who had participated in the “Highway 61 Revisited” and “Blonde on Blonde” sessions. In 1969 Rolling Stone asked Dylan whether there were any particular artists he liked to do versions of his songs; he replied: “Yeah, Elvis Presley. I liked Elvis Presley... Elvis Presley recorded a song of mine. That’s the one recording I treasure the most... It was called “Tomorrow Is A Long Time”. I wrote it but never recorded it.” Dylan was recorded performing the song for the first time in 1962, but it wasnt released until 1971. He rehearsed the song in 1978, and reintroduced it to concerts that same year.
