In 1968 my Dad was drafted for Vietnam. In the midst of the tens - TopicsExpress

In 1968 my Dad was drafted for Vietnam. In the midst of the tens of thousands of draftees, the Army somehow lost his paperwork and be never boarded that bus for boot camp. My Uncle served, in Vietnam and during the Cuban Missile Crisis as an intelligence officer. I was the first female in my family to enlist and I followed in my Uncles footsteps. Today is the 18th anniversary of my Dads death. He was taken before I enlisted. I sometimes wonder what he would think of me pursuing my dream but can only hope he would be proud of his little girl. He was my whole heart. So in the midst of my midterms, Im throwing on my blue and going to hit the pavement. In honor of my Dad and my Uncle.
