In 1972 a kid (although, I was only 19 at the time) came into the shop with a blue and black velvet Granny Takes A Trip jacket that had belonged to Jimi Hendrix. Jimi had given it to his friend Velvert Turner just a couple of years earlier. The kid wanted $20 for it but, for some weird reason I just wasnt interested in buying it as it was used and we wouldnt be able to sell it. This is a pic of Jimi wearing the very same jacket. Just a few days before his death Jimi went into Grannys and placed a big order of suits, shirts, shoes and boots with Gene Krell who cancelled the order after hearing of Jimis death.
