In 1978, I moved into a friends apartment on 73rd btwn Columbus & Amsterdam...one block down from the Dakota..these 2 guys were regular fixtures in the neighborhood...saw them on the street...in Central Park...shopping at Zabars...I was (still am) a big fan of Lennon..but I never invaded their space...I have no problem with Ono either..never understood what the deal was with all the hate...she did what she had to do..my wife, would do the same for me.....the night he ws shot, I was home listening to WNEW FM when I heard the news..i took a walk over there, after what Id just heard sank in. It was pretty bleak... people from the neighborhood...cops..tourists..everybody looked drawn and quartered. It was a bad nite....
