In 1978, I was fortunate enough to spend 29 days in the Middle East. Most of the time we spent in Israel. It IS truly a BEAUTIFUL country. We visited the ENTIRE country. We entered from Jordan by crossing the Jordan River. We stayed in a convent run by French Nuns in Nazareth. We spent a week in Gesher Haziv working in a kibbutz. We spent a week in Jerusalem and we were there when Anwar Sadat walked out on the Peace Talks. We spent another week traveling to Eilat, their resort city on the southern coast the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba. We went to the top of Masada. We strolled along the Sea of Galilee and floated ON TOP of the Dead Sea. While visiting the site of Jesus birth, in Bethlehem, I met John Chancellor, NBCs anchor who was in Israel covering the Peace Talks. It was truly a trip of a lifetime.
