In 1984, I purchased a lot to build a house on. A couple of months later, I received a call from Anderson County Tax Auditor, informing me I had purchased swamp property. I would never be able to build a house on it. I was furious. I called the man I purchased it from, told him, I cant believe you sold me swamp property. Its good for nothing. You will be hearing from my attorney. He kept saying, what are you talking about, I told him he knew what I was talking about. My attorney would be getting back to him. Our switchboard operator kept paging me, I didnt care about my job I was worried about owning a swamp. I called my daddy, my brother , the tax office, I was furious. My dream home was going to be sitting on top of a swamp. Finally, I called our receptionist to see who in the heck was calling me. I was busy, working on my swamp. Not thinking, it was April Fools Day.. The lady that was going to be my future neighbors
