In 1989 a friend and were in Toronto. We saw that REM, on their Green Tour, were playing at Maple Leaf Gardens. Of course we just had to get tickets. We did. Michael Stipe was in a mood that night. The crowd was not as responsive as he would like but managed to stir things up. Peter Buck, as always, was great. None the less an excellent concert...But it was the opening act that really surprised me. When these ladies came on and began playing they got our attention. With their fine harmonies, guitar work and well crafted songs we became instant fans. And they are still at it today. The Indigo Girls!!!
