In 1992 Yamaha introduced the SY85, its first all sample based Music Synthesizer. One of the first Yamaha AWM engines with a new class of digital filters, 8 sliders for realtime control and a floppy drive, lots of great music was made. Producer, arranger and songwriter Keith Thomas used it on Amy Grants Baby Baby and Vanessa Williams Save the Best For Last among others. Here is a pretty slamin demo we found on Youtube.
