In 1994, we drove back down the Al-Can to Denver, went through four transfer cases, and as we got to Whitehorse, we knew it would take a week to get the guaranteed transfer case. So, we got a room that would take our Bouvier at $84.00@ TN, and we were poor musicians trying to get to Denver. There happened to be a Chinese restaurant connected to this motel, and I bravely walked in early and asked the two Orientals that were speaking Chinese very fast. I told them I needed a job for a couple of weeks until our one ton dually was repaired. The woman asked if I could start that day and work until dinner. What a miracle! I only was getting minimum wage, and as you know the difference between a Canadian and a canoe, is that a canoe tips . But, I made enough to pay our motel bill and got a free dinner for me and Marty. After two weeks, our van was ready, the owner begged me to stay, because you wrky so HARD ! Really, I loved the job, my Chinese got better, but I hated watching my husband getting into curling ! Plus, it was forty below every day! We got back to Denver to help my mom. And, I was hired by The Mile High Stadium for the Broncos! Coors field had just opened, and I received two comp tickets to my first major league baseball game. At the game, I could hear someone yelling out my name, and turned to see a worker asking me if i would work the last eleven home games...I looked at Marty and said , only if he works, too! Best jobs ever..Plus, we were doing sound for Todd Buffa at a hot club, The bibliotech! But, by one year, we were going back up the Al-Can to perform at The waterfront, in Homer. It seems no matter where we traveled or performed, we did it TOGETHER. Our Thirtieth anniversary is coming up, and this picture is how Id like to remember our adventures up and down the Al-Can
