In 1995, I discovered something called Anime by way of Channel 4 showing Cyber City Oedo 808. I was instantly hooked and inspired, with this mini-series becoming my lifelong favourite. Cyber City Oedo 808 is an ultra graphic #anime set in the cyberpunk genre that was popular in the late 1980s. The story surrounds three cyber criminals (one story per character) who are employed by the state to capture other Class A criminals in order to have their sentences reduced (well, chipped away!). The series is visually stunning with a fairly deep storyline; however, its equally noted for its heavy electric guitar and synthesizer soundtrack, which too is a personal favourite!
