In 1996, while rehearsing for a concert in which The Who would play their rock opera, Quadrophenia, at Hyde Park in London, lead singer, Roger Daltrey got smacked in the eye by a microphone used by Gary Glitter, who was a guest performer for the concert. Daltrey performed with an eye patch. At the time, Daltrey made it very clear that he, not Glitter was at fault because he was not supposed to be where he was when the accident occurred. However, the media and public have ostracized him and today, it seems that they are now blaming him for Daltreys eye problems. Recent headlines proclaim, Roger Daltrey Still Suffering Gary Glitter Eye Injury. Not one of the articles mentions the reality behind the incident, making Glitter appear to be the perpetrator. In this video, released shortly after the accident, Daltrey clearly explains that he was the cause of his unfortunate meeting with the microphone. Maybe the journalists current writing about the incident should take a few minutes to research what really happened. Its on You Tube for everyone to see. youtube/watch?v=Z3XTqSHS_70
