In 1999, I took a trip to southern Africa. I had an Olympus OM-1 SLR that I had bought after high school graduation. I didnt really know too much about photography, but I knew that I was going to a beautiful place, and I wanted to capture as much of the magic as I could with my camera. I bought a used Vivitar Telephoto Zoom lens, and took about 30 rolls of film with me. Today, I scanned in a bunch of the prints from that trip (unfortunately, I no longer have the negatives), and played with them in Photoshop and Lightroom to remove scratches and smooth out the noise inherent in the old 35mm film days. These three photos were taken in Botswana (the Kudu antelope), South Africa (the B/W coastline), and Zimbabwe (the Zambezi River sunset). It was a fantastic trip, and I hope to be able to return. Until then, however, I will enjoy my pictures and memories, and be grateful that I had the opportunity to go once before...
