In 1999, The government of the United States of America was found - TopicsExpress

In 1999, The government of the United States of America was found guilty in a court of law for murdering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and framing James Earl Ray for the crime. The King family was awarded $100 (yes, one hundred dollars). To this day, when you Google Who Killed Martin Luther King Jr. James Earl Ray is still named as his killer, and not the government. I am 37 years old and a very (VERY) avid reader of the news, and this is new information for me. I feel it is my duty to help spread the word. I will be posting this again this week, then twice every week until MLK day, then every hour on the hour that day. (UPDATING: Cully Hamner points out: The Federal government were not found guilty in a court of law; they were found to be part of a conspiracy liable in a 1999 Memphis lawsuit-- very different thing. One is criminal; one is civil. One requires guilt beyond a reasonable doubt; the other requires a preponderance of the evidence. Ill edit future postings to reflect this. I think its still very important to note that the fact that the government of the United States was found by a court of law to have a hand in the death of Martin Luther King, Jr. isnt more widely known or discussed.)
