In 2 Timothy 1:6 Paul reminds Timothy of the fact that God gives - TopicsExpress

In 2 Timothy 1:6 Paul reminds Timothy of the fact that God gives us gifts for the purpose of having something special at our disposal to be used for ministry in the Kingdom. Paul is telling Timothy, because of his sincere faith, he should fan into flame that gift. He is telling Timothy to use what God has given him. Make that gift a burning passion within his soul. Gifts are to be used with passion for His glory. I have discovered over the years I have spent in ministry that God gives us various gifts at various times in our ministry, depending upon what God desires to accomplish through us at that moment in time. Some people believe in gifts; some do not; some believe in ‘some’ gifts but all the gifts the Bible makes reference to. I have a fairly simple approach to scripture; if the Bible says it, I believe it and I try to live it out. Some people I know get complicated with figuring out what is truth in the word and word is not. I have a hard time deciding something said in scripture is not what it really said. I decided a long time ago, if God wanted it in His Word, I do not have to understand it all, but I do need to accept it. Life is simple for me: I accept His word for what it says. I have and I will use the gifts He has given me for His ministry. Enough said!
