In 2007 I walked in to a Russian courtroom and declared that I wanted to legally be the mom to this red chubby cheeks, blue eyed, blond hair, adorable little boy. The first moment he touched my hand and looked deep in to my eyes and said, Mama I felt that not even death could separate the love I had for this child. I was mama bear now to this sweet child who spoke with such a heavy Russian accent and I would do everything in my power to make life better for him. I didnt realize just how much he was going to make my life better. Everyone says there is no one like my child but indeed I think I have you all beat. His heart cannot be adequately described. His love, devotion, and loyalty to his family and those who have the privilege of being in his life is priceless. He sacrificially gives of himself to help others. His sensitivity is so precious. He sees and feels when someone is hurting and always delivers the right words or deeds to put a smile on their face. He loves passionately. Hes kind, generous, tender, loving, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Any girl who has the privilege of winning his heart one day will have won the world. Hes never met a stranger and he is always first to be a friend to the friendless. He makes me laugh - always doing or saying something witty - usually working to bring smiles to a room. Blake, Im going to say it and those (still slightly chubby) cheeks are going to turn red....this mama sure is proud of her baby boy. We are on two different continents this year celebrating your birthday. I know you are having great time with family back in the US, but I sure do miss you like crazy. Well be seeing each other soon!
