In 2007, I was nursing my baby and pursing a MBA degree. I was also looking for a job. One evening in class, I sat beside a course mate. He was reading a newspaper. After he had read it, I asked him to allow me to glance thru. There, I saw a vacancy ad for a post that I knew I could fill. The down side was the deadline for application had expired by 3 days!!! So why was the ad still running on the papers??? That night, I stayed up, updating my CV and I prayed. The next morning, I went to see Win, a friend of my girlfriend, Glad. I had met him thru her just a week or 2 earlier and thought he could help. I went to Wins office, harmed with the newspaper and my application. He was also surprised the ad was still in the dailies. Win told me he was promising nothing but would check with the organizations head (whom he knew). According to Win, when he did, the head felt obliged to except my application, since there was still a call to the public, thru the ad. The shortlist had already been done, but my CV was so relevant, I was added to the shortlisted candidates for the interview. I immediately got on fast, praying and asking my God for favor, while preparing for my interview. As I drove to my interview that morning, I asked the Holy Spirit to speak thru me. We were 5 shortlisted, including my mate from whom I got the newspaper!!! We did written test and oral interview. As I responded during my oral interview, I had this feeling that someone else was speaking, not me. I was listening to myself but wondering, who is speaking? I dont know if I can explain this in a way that anyone would understand but it did happen. I topped both written test and oral interview. Although, I was the last applicant, last shortlisted, I was the chosen. I have no doubt that the error made by running the vacancy ad for 3 extra days was for me. That I am given the opportunity to apply for a job destined for me. Surely the counsel of the Lord stands. Praise be to the God who has loved me abundantly, my God.
