In 2007, the City underwent an extensive public visioning and input process to establish a strategic plan document entitled Envision 2030. Since the implementation of Envision 2030 the City has seen a lot of resulting changes, improvements and the adoption of other plans such as the Downtown Plan, Corridors of Commerce Action Plan and many others. With the many changes that have occurred, the time is right to “Re-Envision 2030”, and develop a Comprehensive Plan that will revisit, reevaluate and reestablish the community visions from Envision 2030 and other plans adopted and used by the City. Ultimately the Comprehensive Plan will take into account where Fort Dodge has been and provide some guidance for where the community is going, with the help of, and input from, its citizens. The City will kick-off the plan process and invite the public to participate in various meetings, surveys and other interactive events, to share their vision for the City of Fort Dodge. The City anticipates this process will create an all-inclusive plan that will help to plan for the City and its current and future residents and businesses.
