In 2012, 22-year old Van Robinson was arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. This case is still pending, however, Robinson was released by a judge on 2/13/13 for $10,000 or 10% ($1,000) cash-only. On 11/15/13, Robinson forfeited his bond by failing to appear for the Unlawful Use of a Weapon case. On Tuesday at around 2:45, Van Robinson was arrested yet again after he produced a gun and stole a car after an altercation over an alleged drug transaction. After officers broadcast a description of the stolen vehicle and located Robinson, he fled from officers, first in the vehicle, then on foot after fleeing from the vehicle. Officers were able to take Robinson into custody after a brief struggle. Robinson had a warrant for the 2012 incident when officers took him into custody. On 1/7/15, the Circuit Attorneys Office issued warrants for Robbery 1st, Armed Criminal Action and Resisting Arrest against Van Robinson. A judge set only a $30,000 cash-only bond. We must demand a court system to have outcomes that keep our community safe. We must demand an Armed Offender Docket.
