In 2013, Former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and the then 24 APC members in the State House of Assembly did not only reject autonomy for local government, all the Governors elected on the platform of the APC unanimously rejected autonomy for Local Government. This is no longer news. The same autonomy that the impeached/ embattled EKHA Speaker, Wale Omirin, apparently acting on the instruction of Dr. Fayemi, rejected last year, is now being supported today by Dr. Omirin and his group just because Dr. Kayode Fayemi is longer in power. This is hypocrisy. We should be consistent in our actions and decisions. Thats the hallmark of integrity. What ever good or bad we do today, shall be referenced tomorrow. I thank God, I wrote in support of Local Government autonomy last year and I am still insisting that Nigerian Governors should please, for the sake of the people yearning for development at the grassroots, allow autonomy for Local Government to be approved. MAA.
