In 2013, my friend, and Brother in Harmony, Paul Teska was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He wanted to do something with the time that he had remaining, and since he felt that singing had changed his life so much, and wished that he had gotten more involved with it when he was younger, he wanted to organize a benefit to help sponsor youths who wanted to sing. Singing brought so much joy to his life, and allowed him to share so much enjoyment with other people, that he wanted to share that gift with as many people as he could. Today, I learned that he passed away this past weekend. I only knew him for a few years, and I only got to see him a couple of times a year, but I still considered him a friend. I was hoping to get to see him, and sing with him, one more time this summer, but sadly, now I can only sing one in his memory, with some of his other friends. Take a lesson from Paul, and share joy with others. Find what you love to do, and even if youre not the best at it, who cares, as long as it makes you happy. Paul, you were a great guy, and Ill miss singing with you.
