In 2013, thanks to your prayers and gifts, Open Doors partnered with churches in Syria to support an astonishing 8,000 families per month with food and relief. We also distributed more than 50,000 Bibles and 15,000 Action Bibles for youth, which were distributed in Damascus, Aleppo and Homs. Imad*, an Open Doors partner working in Homs, told us, “It is not easy to deliver the books. On our way to the city we had to pass checkpoint after checkpoint. They ask a lot of questions and we are always wary of kidnappers. I was very worried about being on the road with such a large number of books and money.” One of them was given to a nine-year-old boy. Later he was walking on the street with his mother, when shooting started and the people all around them started panicking and crying. The boy looked up to his mother, hugging his Action Bible, saying: “Mum, why are you so afraid?
