In 2015 the Freedom Charter turns 50. Hopefully we shall have a calm and sensetive but truthful discussion on this historic document. We must avoid insults and innuendo but do a thorough contextual analysis (what was going on at the time and what where the players and interests), also textual analysis(what does the FC actually say?). We can then look at how implementation since 1994 has been contested. I beg for respect and sensetivity when we engage the FC. Truth is too many people regard it as religious document and have massive emotional attachment to it. Lots of people died fighting for the FC. Lets be sensetive but truthful. Also we must not allow debate on the FC to divide us, EFF has already moved beyond the limitations of FC on the land question, through its first cardinal pillar Land Expropriation without compensation. As revolutionaries we must not be afraid of debate to clarify our ideas to secure the revolution. Again I beg no insults and I ask all to be sensentive for we are one.
